For the collar to be effective, safe and comfortable , it must be positioned very precisely on the dog's neck. Here are the key rules:

Ideal position:

  • Upper neck, just below the ears
  • Behind the jaw, at the throat (not on the trachea)
  • The collar should never sit low on the neck, like an everyday flat collar.
  • The higher the collar, the more effective it is with less pressure
  • This position gives more control and prevents damage to the trachea
