For the collar to be effective, safe and comfortable , it must be positioned very precisely on the dog's neck. Here are the key rules:
Ideal position:
- Upper neck, just below the ears
 - Behind the jaw, at the throat (not on the trachea)
 - The collar should never sit low on the neck, like an everyday flat collar.
 - The higher the collar, the more effective it is with less pressure
 - This position gives more control and prevents damage to the trachea
